TV Drops Cable TV/Satellite TV & Internet Streaming Video
Future-proof your Coax TV drops with an additional wired ethernet connection capable of speeds upto 1000Mbps. Use the solution below to distribute Cable-TV / Satellite-TV / Antenna TV and internet connectivity to two locations 25/50/75/100 feet from the central location. Internet connected devices like Slingbox, Slingcatcher, Roku, Xbox 360, Netflix player, Boxee, Apple TV and a host of other streaming services can save you money on your monthly cable/satellite service bill. All of these devices require a permanent hard-wired connection to the Internet. Cat6 is the best was to get this essential connectivity at each TV location.
Home Run: This is the way to run RG6 and Cat6 cables. From a central point to each TV/Device location. ( The older daisy-chain method used before the advent of structured wiring: hop from one telephone outlet to the next is the wrong way to run RG6/Cat6 cables.)
RG6 distribution: No tools needed for the rg6 cable as it is pre-terminated with the highest quality compression fittings. Three cables are included, one to bring the service into the central hub and two to distribute the video service to the TV drops.
Cat6 distribution- The included Belden cat6 cable can be used for a service feed (from the demarcation box outside the home to a central location) and 2 home runs starting from the central location and ending at each TV drop. The DSL/service provider will connect the service feed cable to the demarcation box, the other end is terminated onto a cat6 connector using the included punch down tool by following a simple color code printed on the connector. Each end of the home run cat6 cable is punched down on the cat6 connector for a reliable internet connection.
