Solution Specification:
Seven types of outlets for audio video data telephone
VDT : Video, Data, Telephone, powered by 1 cat5e, 2 RG6 3GHz and 1 Cat6 cable DT : Data + telephone powered by 2 cat5e cables T : telephone powered by 1 cat5e Cable D : Data powered by 1 cat5e Cable AVC :Audio Volume control for A-bus whole house audio with ceiling speakers in same room/zone powered by cat5e from panel/entertainment center and 14/2 speaker wires to ceiling speakers HT : Home theater 5 pairs of binding post modules for audio input. Located behind entertainment/TV unit. (Other end terminates directly on to the speakers. VC : video camera, run one RG6 and 1 cat5e to each of the interior/exterior camera location. Three technologies available, CCTV($), IP camera($$), IP camera with Power over ethernet($$$) wire for both. CCTV uses 1 RG6 for video and cat5e for 12V DC IP camera uses cat5e for signal and control and have a 110 V AC close by for power. IP camera with power over ethernet handles signal/control and power all from one cat5e but is very expensive now. When pre-wiring for video camera leave ample extra length on camera end and cover gang box with wallplate.
Structured Wiring Panel in basement.
Living
3 VDT on the three wall sections on the covered patio side. This room is very unique, furniture orientiation not clear to me and the shape of the room and location of the kitchen and wet bar make one of the short wall section on either side of the atrium door an ideal point for a TV (if any) and the data and telephone in the same wallplate offers verstatility.
1 DT in the wet bar area
1 5.1 Surround sound HT
Kitchen
1 VDT on east kitchen wall under cabinet/on splash-board to allow tel, data and under cabinet TV.
1 D behind fridge
1 T on the wall across from stack oven for a wired wall
phone with a wireless look.(Leviton Out-of-sight Jack
with built-in power supply for Kitchen phone)
Office
1 VDT on South East Corner. This wallplate can be mounted at ceiling height if you envision a TV mounted on a TV-Stand or a plasma tv mounted up high.
you did not ask for Video but would recommend it or convert one of the below DTs to VDT.
1 DT on north wall Center(or close to potential Desk location)
1 DT on West wall Center(or close to potential Desk location)<
1 DT on East wall North corner(or close to potential Desk location)<
Library
1 VDT on your choice of wall/built-in cabinet.
1 DT on your choice of wall/built-in cabinet location
Media Room
1 VDT on the west wall
1 VDT on the east wall
1 HT for 5.1 surround sound/home theater
Master Bed
1 VDT on the south-west corner across from Bed
You could also have this on top of the door covered patio and install a flat screen TV.
2 DT on each side of the bed.
1 HT for 5.1 surround sound/home theater
(not in your spec, but would recommend it)
Basement
1 VDT on your choice of wall
1 3D This is a data only wallplate with 3 data jacks. You can install this next to your potential Server location.
Sun Room
1 VDT on South wall (media room wall, but outside)
IP camera/CCTV camera
Run one cat5e and one rg6 cable to each potential
camera location. (eg Living Room Ceiling, Roof of Sun Room pointing at the home, Front door and one more location of your choice) For indoors and remote command and control use IP camera Also provide 110V AC to power
IP camera For outdoors use weatherproof bullet camera
and CCTV technology.
(I have calculated cable and data connections you need
in the structured wiring panel, we
only sell IP cameras and dont have CCTV cameras)
Whole House audio
You specified 3 zones (media, living, library,) , would recommend four zone as it comes in a 4 zone kit form. Also would recommend the living room and media room unit to be a conventional 5.1 sourround sound music system, with the 4-zone whole house system extending this primary system to 4 other zones. eg. library, office, covered patio(interior) and covered patio(exterior).
We will have the Channel Vision 4 zone kit on our website soon. Your audio source would be picked up from the entertainment unit (Living Room) and sent to the structured wiring panel using cat5e cable. There it gets distributed to (4) A-bus volume control units that mount in each of the 4 zones From the controller unit a 14/2 speaker wire would take the amplified audio signal to the ceiling speakers. I can mark up the A-bus volume control and speaker locations on your home plan and fax it back to you.
Total outlets(wallplates) of each type
VDT=10
DT=7
D=1 (fridge)
3D = 1(basement)
