Leviton VSQIP IP/Quad Module for Structured Cabling Video Security
The Leviton IP/Quad Module enables the user to view the
Indoor and Outdoor Cameras either on one or more TV sets in
the home, or via the Internet from any location using an
Internet browser on a PC. The module includes password
protection to prevent unauthorized access. It mounts in the
Structured Media™ Center (SMC) and connects to the
composite video ports on the Camera Hub. It also connects via
data patch cord to either a Leviton Ethernet Switch or Internet
Gateway/Router in the SMC. The IP/Quad Module provides
several features including an alert function that will send an email
and/or trigger an external device if pixels change in one or
more camera views. The browser allows selection of either a
full-screen single camera view or multiple cameras up to four at
once in the same “quad” view. The single or multiple camera
views selected through the browser interface will appear on
both the TV screen and the browser interface.
Remote IP/Quad Internet access features DDNS (dynamic
domain name server) settings all within the configuration of
your IP/Quad providing simple user login. The DDNS service
will open a path through the IP/Quad to the Internet allowing
users to access the IP/Quad remotely—even if service providers
change their users’ IP address. For secure login, all remote Internet
access into the IP/Quad has user ID and password protection.
Leviton’s IP/Quad Module input ports connect into four video
output ports on the Leviton Camera Hub (VSHUB-000). Leviton
includes four BNC-to-RCA adapters, to enable installers to easily
connect the IP/Quad using RCA composite video cables to the
Camera Hub. The IP/Quad Video Output port can connect in
the same way to a Leviton Video Modulator, sequencer, or an
F-connector adapter directly over a spare RG6-Quad Shield cable
to the composite video input of a TV monitor.
Access to the IP/Quad Module’s network is done conveniently
through the WAN port. The unit also includes one-port router
capability; primarily for stand-alone commercial applications,
but in most cases the installer will disable the router function
and use the WAN
