Run one cat5e cable to the camera location. The kit comes with support for upto 4 cameras and 2 color cameras are included, you can install one in the stairs and other outside the garage overlooking the driveway. The Greyfox camera system is the easiest camera system to install for residential applications.
Whole House audio
We have the Channel Vision a-bus whole house audio kit. Your audio source would be picked up from the receiver unit in the multipurpose room and sent to the structured wiring panel using cat5e cable. There it gets distributed to upto(4) A-bus keypad units that mount in each of the 4 zones. The A-bus keypad can control the volume in that room and send IR commands to the CD player in your multi-purpose room.
You specified three zones, you can make use of the available fourth zone if you so desire. Suggested whole house audio zones are Living room, deck, master bedroom and garage.
Media Niche /
Ideally you want the Media Niche that houses the DVD player, Stereo, Satellite/cable receiver close to the big screen TV. Would recommend using one corner of the closet in the Multi-purpose room. The structured wiring panel could be in the pantry. It is hard for me to recommend but you really have three options for the way your home is laid out.
1. Media Niche and Structured Wiring panel in multi-purpose room.
2. Media Niche and Structured wiring panel in pantry.
3. Media niche in Multi-purpose room and structured wiring panel in pantry.
